Tulsi is also known as holy basil (not to be confused with the basil used in cooking). It’s an adaptogen that’s native to the Indian subcontinent and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 3000 years.
Tulsi is also known as the “Elixir of Life” because of its wide-ranging benefits. The potent oil extracted from the leaves gets its stress-reducing properties from concentrated amounts of eugenol, rosmarinic acid, apigenin, myretenal, luteolin, sitosterol, and carnosic acid.
